UGUISU is the creative duo of Michiyo Miyake and Nicholas Marshall. It originally began as a translation team, and evolved into a co-authoring enterprise for self-publication.

Michiyo Miyake: Writer and translator, born in Japan and based in Australia. She began her career in Japan, publishing articles on British and American literature and culture during the inter-war period. Since 2016, she has lived in Sydney and started UGUISU BOOKS.

Nicholas Marshall: Editor and writer based in Sydney. He has a PhD in applied linguistics and was a professor of English for Academic Purposes in the postgraduate school of Meiji University in Tokyo. He also taught academic English at Tsuda and Waseda Universities in Japan, and Macquarie University in Sydney.
